MAYA AND VANYA


Maya and Vanya are a sisters DJ duo based in New Zealand. Originally from Croatia they have an exotic fun vibe to their tunes with their styles ranging from upfront House, Tech-house, Disco, Nu Funk to the sub genres they have become more known for such as World Tribal Tech, Latino House, UK Funky, Baile Funk and Baltimore.

They currently resident at New Zealand’s coolest venue Cassette9 (where our boys Slap & Dash were just over to play a banging show at). They've played at Summerdayze, Rhythm & Vines, Air NZ Fashion Week, Sounds of Summer, Deep Hard N Funky, Slinky, Our:House, Fashion Beauty Music, Highlife, Electric, Torque and Signature Sounds and have supported massive acts such as Carl Cox, Digitalism, Fort Knox Five, A-Trak, Justin Martin, Busy P, Dj Mehdi and local talent Ladyhawke, Katchafire, Recloose, Moby, Major Lazer, Switch/Solid Groove, DJ Nu Mark, Steve Aoki, Santigold, 2Many Djs, Fake Blood, Crookers. One half of the Netherland's Scheibe (Schleudern Records), Roberto Balzarelli, has hit Melbourne's shores with his love of Minimal and Techno and is set to make an impact on our local dance music scene. Roberto is set to bang out his Techno, Deep and Minimal House tunes until the early hours of Saturday morning at Bambaataa on the 27th of November. Roberto and the PlateSwitcher, aka Klaasje Kleite, have been playing their weekly 120 minute set on Syn FM from 10-12, every Friday. Check out their set from last Friday (which includes a shout out to the Bambaataa crew) and his Sound Cloud page which features some other of their shows and an additional mixtape. Enjoy
