TOM EQ (DIRTY BIRD & JACK UNIONS RECORDS UK) @ BAMBAATAA

BAMBAATAA PRESENTS TOM EQ (DIRTYBIRD & JACK UNION RECORDS UK)
Dirtybird Records are celebrating 5 years and to celebrate, are touring to promote their highly anticipated 3 CD set "5 Years of Dirtybird", being released on April 19th.

‘Dirtybird’ has always been synonymous with sweaty bass-lines, quirky ideas, and bumpin funk. It is only fitting that a label based on a philosophy of bringing smiles to the dance-floor was created by a party. In 2003, Christian Martin took a risk and bought a giant sound system on his credit card. The party was named after a drawing of a bird that Barclay Crenshaw (aka Claude VonStroke,) used to draw when he was a kid. The line-up was rounded out with Christian’s brother Justin Martin and his room-mate Worthy. All four DJs were tired of the same old San Francisco vocal house that they heard everywhere they went. The grand idea was to change the landscape of San Francisco house music by throwing an epic free party in the park based on this new sound. The result was only seven people showing up to this first “epic” event.

Tom EQ has been extremely busy in the past 3 years releasing remixes of Claude Von Stroke, Wongo, Dizzee Rascal, The Huskies, Scott Cooper, Jak Z, Aout6 and a shit load more.

Tom has also just begun with his latest project along side Jeff Doubleu, The Potato Heads. This year they've already released huge tracks suck as Trumpet Dance, Get Up and Don't slip, which have been doing the round across dancefloors all over the world.

Zodiac Cartel - "Tom EQ's rocking my world of late and this is no exception - really well produced & less clownstep than much of the fidget that's a round right now"

Darren Gerhold - Galaxy Radio "Superb, In da Bag!."

Tweak - Flass 104 Iceland "Tom EQ is on Fire!!!."

Acid Jacks - Trouble & Bass "I'm really diggin Tom EQ's stuff."

Jon Carter - "Cool Stuff."

Oliver Lang (Azuli / Toolroom) - "wicked little piece of cheeky jackin stuff 5/5"

Terry Mullan (Speakerphreaker) - "Tom EQ on Point as usual"

Tom EQ - "Various press releases have called my style "jacking electro glitch bass funk" others have stated "jackin’ beats, chunky drums and driving bass", some have labeled me as fidget.

... Whatever you want to call it, its music for the dancefloor which doesn't take itself too seriously"
