AUGUST CHOMP!

Ok so it's that time again in the month, but this time it will be the last in a while. We're going on a hiatus period until summer and coming back once again with bigger and better parties. Joining Trump will be 'whiteballin' counterpart Violate, Third Class and Inner City Waste family member Herbie, residents Capslock and Pooley, Tim Scales and Abukar and Liam Mac for an appearance with Pooley as they bang out Hip-Hop bangers like always.

PSEUDO-LICIOUS

I can't believe I haven't posted on these guys earlier, but now producing their own tunes Pseudo-Licious are getting attention from all over the place, including Germany. They've also done an awesome re-edit on Strip Steve's "You and I". I first was introduced to these guys by my man Eazy and they've been busy boys having realsed a handful of original mixes in the past few months and supported the Bag Raiders on their most recent visit to Eurotrash. If you missed out these guys played the June Chomp supporting 1 Fish, 2 Fish and Cheapdate then you have got to go and check out one of their live sets, awesome. Check out there two latest set to feature on their upcoming So Delicious EP courtesy of Eazy.

BLOOD ON CHEF'S APRON

Along with Dj Absolut Wu-Tang's Raekwon had just released a mixtape entitled 'Blood on Chef's Apron'. It features special appearances from Busta Rhymes, Noreaga and Cypress Hill's B-Real. One of my favourite tracks would have to be Beauty. This would have to be one of the best hip-hop albums I've listened to in a long time. The beats are perfect.
For a full download go to the link and torrent that shit.

MU-GEN WITH A HARD G

So after cruising Scatterblog a few days ago I saw that Mu-Gen has released a brand spanking new mixtape, which he claims is his first in four years. If you didn't know who Mu-Gen was before the last Chomp, you now know he's one of Melbourne's best behind the decks. I hit up revolver two weeks back to see Detboi and the Scatterblog crew tear the place apart. Slap and Dash (Mu-gen and Scattermish) were a real highlight.

Mu-Gen - With A Hard "G" Mixtape

You can catch the Scatterblog crew again this Saturday at the Espy front bar, joined by Potty Mouth Record's Paul Kelevra. Check the facebook event out here. It's free entry and the Scatterblog crew are renowned for always throwing killer parties.

THE JAKES PROJECT

Bristol's Jakes is a vocalist/producer and the founder of renowned dubstep crew HARD EARNED NEVER CAUGHT HUSTLIN (H.E.N.C.H). Jakes has just released the long awaited 'Jakes Project' on D-Style Records and Hench recordings. The album features a great mix of drum and bass and dubstep. Highlights for me were the tracks 'Rock The Bells' and 'Warface', both mind blowing dubstep anthems.

The Jakes Project Full Download

Also on HENCH recordings is another Bristol Dubstep DJ, Komonazmuk. I downloaded a remix he did of King Cannibal track last year and he impressed me. I've got to hype King Cannibal because I reckon he is probably one of the best dubstep DJs going around. Check out the two tracks and other material by these two lads.

HIJACK

UK's Hijack has releases dating back to 06', but he's been fairly busy in recent months. Hijack is touring Aus this June for the Winter Sound System at Melbourne Park. He's released two original mixes this year on Potty Mouth and Jack Union Records. Check out 'Keep It Real', realeased on Potty Mouth. Sick sample...

Hijack - Keep It Real (Original Mix)

Hijack's remix of Blatta & Inesha's Blow Up is a dancefloor classic. After stumbling over this track on Discodust last month I was blown away. It reminds me of Switch's remix of the Futurehead's 'Worry about it later', quality. Check this track out, it's essential for an upcoming set or mixtape. I've also thrown up Channel X's deeper version of Blow Up.

Check out Hijack's and Tom EQ's remixes of Jak-Z & Scott Cooper's Move Ya, probably not as good as original but still top tracks, the original will get you moving anywhere you hear it.

MAY CHOMP!

So we're two weeks off the third Chomp and we're all set to go, with one minor fuck up. Because there's five Saturdays in may (and Chomp being the third Saturday of the month) I assumed it was the 23rd because of the way I read the calender. Anyway, after a quick flyer change and the re-booking of 7 DJs we're back on track for the real date, the 16th of May.

MAFIA's leading the charge of the massive 8 DJ bill with special guests and match bar residents Leslie Salvador. Chomp residents Pooley and Capslock will also be joined by Research, Eazy, Barlov and Hey Sam! Fuck Groovin' The Moo, hit up Chomp on the 16th.
Chomp is at The Laundry, 50 Johnston Street, Fitzroy.

Check out the set times, but be sure to get down early to take advantage of the full bill. Click the DJ name for their Myspace or facebook pages.

POOLEY

Welcome!

So this is my very first bullshit welcome post, which is mandatory in everyone of these blogs. So here's a quick rundown on me and what this shit is all about.
- My name is POOLEY (DJ Pooley)
- I run Badrunner Productions, the team who puts together a night called CHOMP, which runs every third Saturday night of the month
I'm not going to write much more than that because no-one really wants to read pure shit talking, come down to revolver tomorrow night if you want to hear that.
